The weather has finally smartened up for the summer season.
It is so nice to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and soak up the much needed Vitamin D.
In the duration of the next couple of weeks, I am looking forward to lots of socializing that is long over due.
Starting tomorrow I get to go see Eclipse a day early thanks to a great friend that was able to get tickets through work. Thinking back, I have known Shelby for 18 years and it is great knowing that we have stayed in contact all of these years. My "Team Edward" banner is almost complete for tomorrow's screening... Just Kidding Shelb. Lol!
Wednesday evening is also going to be a great night shared with mutual "Twihard" friends by again seeing Eclipse. It will be great to spend the night at the theatre to re-live the book series we love so much. I met Leanne and Nicole through becoming a Mom.
Leanne and I met in pre-natal class over 5 years ago, and I met Nicole through a Mom and Tot class just after Riley was born. It's so great having this social network, and this event is great because it's time out for us as off duty Mom's which doesn't happen often.
Since becoming a "Twihard" I have been to the theatre more in the past year and half than I have for a long time. It truly is a great experience. Brings back memories of those teenage years and good times shared with friends, and who doesn't love popcorn smothered in butter. Being a huge Robert Pattinson fan, I also went to opening night of his film Remember Me, which in my opinion is a fabulous film. I would recommend everyone see it for sure.
I am looking forward to the next few films on his roster as well.
The week following, I have a night out with "Moms on the run". Another great group of Moms in my local area, most of which I have known for 5+ years. We make a point of gathering once a month to get out and do different activities and enjoy each others company, learn about new places to shop, restaurants, products etc. Also, to learn that other Mom's are going through exactly what we are going through as well. Kind of a relief knowing that you're not alone in the world of Motherhood. This event takes place the night before my birthday, so I may have to partake in a couple of cocktails.
Then bring on The Calgary Stampede! Yeehaw!
This exhibition has always held a soft spot in my heart, leaving my mind filled with great memories. I used to go to the parade every year with my Grandma. We would go early to get a curb side seat to get the best view of the spectacle. She would pack us a lunch and snacks to ty us over until lunch as you needed to be there early to get that special seat.
When I was 7 & 8 I was involved with the Young Canadians as a singer/dancer. The big Grandstand show took place in front of a huge crowd on the big stage every night for the ten day affair.
Then I was known as a Calgary Stampede Ranch Girl. Riding a horse carrying a sponsor flag for the grand entry everyday of the Rodeo event. I truly loved this experience. We came flying through the main gate at a full gallop, around the burning ground with flames of the CS brand while holding reins in one hand, flag in the other, hair blowing in front of the grand stand full of people. What a rush, not to mention the behind the chutes view of the rodeo everyday. The job came complete with picture ID to get anywhere I needed to go, some good times were had with some fellow cowgirls.
My Hubby turns 40 on the 14th, so we will be celebrating this big milestone for sure, as well as, our 14th wedding anniversary on the 20th.
All in all, it is shaping up to be a great time with friends and family.
Sounds great...and nice weather to boot! I would love to pick you up for MOTR too....seeing as it is a pre-bday event!
